HAGERSTOWN GEARS UP FOR THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF TURBO-BLUE HUB-CITY NATIONAL

HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Hagerstown Speedway will be the site of the 25th Silver Anniversary Turbo Blue Racing Gasoline Hub-City National 150 and the 13th Annual Hoosier Tire/Mid-Atlantic Race of Champions on Saturday and Sunday, October 23rd and 24th. The Hub-City National Open 150 is the longest running fall event for late models in the area. Race time is 1 P.M. each day with gates opening at 10 A.M.

The two-day program will bring together the top late model drivers in the northeast including more than 20 track champions for the 13th Annual Hoosier Tire / Mid-Atlantic Race of Champions. Saturday's activities will start off with time trials and qualifying events for the late models plus qualifying preliminaries for the late model sportsman/semi-lates, pure stocks and Ernie's Salvage Yard 4-cyl pure stocks. All divisions but the late models will race under open competition rules. The Hoosier Tire/Mid-Atlantic Race of Champions for the late models will round out the first day.

In Sunday, it will be feature time highlighted by the 25th running of the Turbo-Blue Hub City National Open 150. The race will be run in three 50-lap segments with fuel stops on the 50th and 100th laps. The winner can take home up to $13,000 in winnings and lap money. By winning the Hub-City and Race of Champions, one driver could pocket more than $14,500.

Rodney Franklin of White Post, Va. and Nathan Durboraw of Hagerstown will be shooting for their fourth Hub-City win. Davey Johnson of Greensburg, PA will be going for a record fifth Hub-City triumph. Other Hub-City winners include defending race champion Todd Andrews of Eldred, PA, Lynn Geisler, Denny Bonebrake, John Mason, and Bob Wearing Sr.

Also on Sunday's program will be championship events for the open competition late model sportsman/semi-lates, pure stocks and 4-cyl pure stocks.
