Route 66 Raceway Adds Petersen Aluminum as Sponsor

(Joliet IL) The officials at Route 66 Raceway announced today, that Petersen Aluminum will sponsor the "Petersen Aluminum Consolation Race" at the upcoming Prairie Dirt Classic presented by Chilli Man Chili.

In addition to sponsoring the consolation race, Petersen Aluminum, will also allocate enough sheet metal to the winner of the Prairie Dirt Classic, to build an entire body for their race-car. "We feel that adding this sponsor, and incentive, will add to our race, and reward the drivers for their participation" States Route 66 Spokesperson Larry Decker. " With all of the upcoming major races, we felt it would be nice to let a driver get a free body, along with us gaining an important alliance with a Chicago Area Manufacturer.", continues Decker. Petersen Aluminum is based in Geln Ellyn IL, a suburb of Chicago.

The upcoming 1999 Prairie Dirt Classic Weekend, features the Chilli Man Chili Prairie Dirt Classic at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet IL on September 3, 1999, along with a $1,000 to win UMP Modified feature. This race precedes the Prairie Dirt Classic by Lynn Chevrolet-Buick Inc. paying $10,000 to win, and $1,000 to start the feature, at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway on September 4, 1999.
