BARTON WINS MCCREARY TIRE 35-LAP SUPER LATE MODEL CHAMPIONSHIP   AT STATELINE SPEEDWAY

Busti, NY - Dick Barton has been unstoppable the past two weeks at Stateline Speedway  as he won the McCreary Tire 35-lap Super Late Model Championship. Barton also won  last week’s SLM feature.

The championship race got off to a rough start as five cars piled up in the first lap  coming out of turn two. Dick Barton was leading with Doug Eck and Pat McGuire  fighting it out for second place when the wreck happened. Four cars piled up into the  wall coming out of turn two. Eck‘s car sustained heavy damage and had to be towed off of the track leaving McGuire in second place.

Barton started lapping cars in the 20th lap leaving McGuire to chase him through traffic. McGuire ran hard looking for any room he could get to gain on the leader. But it just wasn’t meant to be. Barton claimed the championship and McGuire had to settle for  second place with Matt Urban taking third.

Top 10: Dick Barton; Pat McGuire; Matt Urban; Dave Scott; Andy Kania; Rod Maloy; Chris Brockway; Chad Ruhlman; Rick Gardner; Boyd Whitehead.

Pat McGuire was able to get by John Lacki in the 15th lap of the Limited Late Model  feature for the lead and the win. Lacki dominated the race early on, but McGuire was  moving well through traffic and found a passing lane. Lacki had a tire going flat in the 17th lap. Tom Schnars got by him for second with Lacki ending up in third.

Budweiser Super Sportsman action saw Norm Kloszewski stall in the eighth lap when he was plowed into from behind by second place car Chris Dahldren. The two were uninjured. Matt Green was on a roll until he lost control in the tenth lap handing the lead to Mike Kosinski who capitalized and won. Gary Foster finished in the second spot  with Dan Nocero taking third.

Craig Kroll was able to pull away from Quincey Turner for the lead spot in the first Cadet feature. Into the fourth lap Kroll was lapping the field with Turner in hot pursuit. Bryan Emory got by Turner in the tenth lap and slid in behind Kroll. Emory took the lead and the win in the final lap away from Kroll. Kroll finished second with Jeff Gunnell sliding into third.

Mike Kosinski was a man on the move in the second Cadet feature as he put a lot of daylight between his bumper and second place car Herm Hilyer. Kosinski was definitely stepping out he as notched up his second feature win of the season at Stateline. Hilyer took second with Jamie Erhard claiming third.

Pat Fielding got the jump on John Galati in the All Pro Run For The Money. Fielding was able to open up some daylight, but not before Galati could mount a challenge. However, Galati hit the wall in turn three handing the win over to Fielding.

Bill Messina took quite a lick in the first Spectator feature when he accidentally got hooked up with Tom Churchill in the second lap. Messina appeared to be uninjured, but had to be towed away. With green flag racing under way, Paul Briggs led the pack with Brian Larson running hot right on his bumper. Larson got by Briggs in the eighth lap to take home the checkered flag. Briggs took second place with Chris McDonald racing 
well for third.

The second Spectator feature might have been subtitled "Change the Leader." Bill Rotunda grabbed an early lead that lasted four laps. John Wayne in the 10x car passed Rotunda on the outside going into turn three to take command of the race in the following lap.Then it was time to change the lead again as Bill Baker. Jr. took over and took home the wth. Wayne finished second with Rotunda taking third.

The third Spectator feature saw Kelly Frederes pass George Richardson in the second lap for the early lead. Then two laps later. Richardson reclaimed his spot. Richardson battled with Frederes the remainder of the race. Richardson was just able to edge out Frederes for the win. Tommy Fox finished in third place.

Brian Guzowski lost a good portion of the front end of his car when he hit the wall in the very first lap. Guzowski was uninjured as he jumped out to check the damage and racing once again went green. John dine was the man to beat as he claimed the lead in the sixth lap. Nobody could catch Cline as he crossed the finish line first. Chris Sutton finished in second place with Bob Fisbee taking third.
