WAGNER~DIOKSON,KEPNER,NOSS WIN PORT ROYAL FEATURES

Mike Wagner wired the field to take his first win of the season at Port Royal Speedway Saturday July 10. Wagner took the lead on lap 3 from Scott Gesford and was never challenged as he put Walt Dyer’s 461 into victory lane. Shawn Keen came from eighteenth starting spot to nail down the runnerup spot. Cliff Brian shook off all his bad luck to earn a fine third place. Keith Kauffman used a lap 18 restart to take fourth, while Todd Shatter came away with fifth. George Kuip, Len Thompson, Mike Lutz, Scott Gesford,and Troy Camp completed the top ten. Lance Dewease and Shaffer won the heats. 20 sprints were in the pits.

All time career feature winner Kenny Dickson captured his first win Of the year in the 20 lap Grays Auto Parts late model main. Outside pole sitter Tony Adams jumped to the early lead and opened a sizable advantage. On lap 8, Adams suffered mechanical problems, forcing him out of the race. Dickson used the slowing leader to move to the front and record his first win at Port Royal since ‘97. One time winner .Jeff Rifle made a lap 14 restart bid for the lead but came up short and had to settle for second. Kory Sites had the best Showing of his rookie campaign to finish third, while Tim Wilson rode home fourth and Brian Shuey garnered fifth. Sixth through tenth were Steve Campbell. Mike Lupfer, Chris Shuey. Scotty Haus, and Dave Kepner.Haus and Dickson won the heats. 23 late models were trackside.

Corey Kepner took his second Stong’s Auto PartsI HP Engines 12 lap pro stock feature. Pole sitter Glenn Miller led the first lap before giving way to Dave Brouse on lap 2. The furious early battle saw Kepner go to the front on lap 3. Kepner held his edge the rest of the way to secure the victory. Multi time feature winner Tim Krape moved into second on lap 5 but couldn’t close on the leader. Brian Henry closed in the third spot, followed by Scott Dorman in fourth and Jason Schmidt rounding out the top five. Krape and Kepner Won the heats. 19 pro stocks were on hand.

Alan Moss won the 30 lap enduro dash event. Joe Wilson. Kim Leister, Butch Renninger, and Neil Foust followed him across the line.

Port Royal will be back in action next Saturday night With Sprints, the Gray’s Auto Parts late models, and Stong’s Auto Parts! HP Engines pro stocks and the only appearance of the lady chauffeurs in a powder puff race on Perry Petroleum night at Port Royal. Racetime is 7P.M. See you at the Port!
