Portsmouth

Portsmouth,Ohio- Paul Harris took the lead following a restart on lap 4 Saturday, August 28 and went onto to his first late model A-main victory this season at Portsmouth Raceway Park.

Driver Points leader Craig Leist led the first three laps before giving up the point to Harris. He followed the Prestonsburg,Ky. driver to the checkered flag to extend his points lead to 200.

Bob Adams Jr. was the Timber Wolf Hard Charger. He moved from 19th to 12th.

Heat winners were John Mason,Jackie Boggs. Nick Bocook won the B-main while Craig Leist won the dash.

Other winners were Modified- Todd Robinson;  Street Stock - John Melvin; Bomber - Bo Cox

The biggest weekend of the year is planned Saturday and Sunday at PRP.

The Labor Day Championships, sponsored by Creative Possibilities will be held Saturday. NASCAR Ricky Rudd Tide T-shirts will be given to the first 500 adult admissions plus there will be several other giveaways. With Rudd and Tide parting ways the T-shirts and other Rudd items are certain to be collector items.

Pepsi will sponsor the Portsmouth River Days 100 on Sunday.

The STARS late model drivers will be in town for the 100 lapper with $15,000 going to the winner.
