Thunder Valley Raceway

     Central City, PA - August 21. 1999

Todd Andrews Takes MACS at TVR;

The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) made its second stop of the 1999 season at Thunder Valley Raceway, the tempo was fast and furious with 38 competitors battling for a starting spot in the feature, Jeff Ferguson led the first 18 laps, but it was Todd Andrews who took the checkered flag after threading his way through lapped traffic. The track was conducive to fast times and only three cautions interrupted the 40-lap feature as drivers were getting significant bite from the smooth surface. TVR regular Mike Altobelli coming off a heat race win, ran very strong in the feature until becoming victimized in an incident with lapped cars. Finishes by the top three TVR point leaders in the Late Model Division included Robby Garlock in18th, Mike Altobelli in 23rd and Jody Yearick in 15th

Alan Sagi finished second followed by Bob Salathe, Scott Rhodes and Jeff Ferguson rounding out the top 5. Heat winners were Andy Fries, Mike Altobelli,Scott Rhodes and Jeff Ferguson. B Mains were won by Tom Myers and Dave Groves to transfer into the feature.
