I-79 ANNOUNCES
SIMONTON WINDOWS MOUNTAIN STATE THUNDER!

 Interstate 79 Speedway promoter, Steve Baker, is announcing several
changes to the season finale coming up at Interstate 79 Speedway.   The
Simonton Windows Mountain State Thunder  will be the only West Virginia
appearance in 1999 by the STARS National DirtCar Racing League late
model drivers.   The 75 lap feature event will pay $10,000 to win!

 This race held annually on Labor Day weekend will be a two-day show on
Friday and Saturday, September 3-4.  Also on the racing card that
weekend will be the steel block late models, UMP modifieds, and pure
stocks.

 Friday, September 3, will find practice set for the STARS late model
drivers.  Qualifying and heats will be run for the other three classes
-  steel block late models, modifieds, and pure stocks.  Gates will open
at 5:00 with time trials set to begin at 8:00.
A party will be held in the pit area after the races are completed on
Friday night.

 On Saturday, September 4, there will be qualifying and a complete
program for the STARS late models.  Consolations and features will be
run for the other three divisions.  Gates will open on Saturday at 4:00
with time trials beginning at 7:30.

 This is one race you don't want to miss.  Drivers from several states
will be in attendance with the purse and laps being increased from the
