HAGERSTOWN RETURNS TO SUNDAY AFTERNOON ACTION IN SEPTEMBER
HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Hagerstown Speedway will switch back to Sunday afternoons in September as the speedway enters its fall schedule of special events. A full slate of special season ending events is on tap at the speedway through October.
The last points race for all four divisions will take place on Saturday night, September 4th with the Annual Ronnie McBee Memorial. Six features are on tap including double point events that will make the battle for the track championships hot and heavy. The late models will go 44-laps in the McBee Memorial while the late model sportsman and pure stocks battle it out in two features including summer championship/double point events. The Ernie's Salvage Yard 4-cyl pure stocks will also wrap up the 1999 point battle Saturday night. Race time is 7 P.M.
Hagerstown will switch to Sunday afternoon for a full day of racing on September 12th. It will be Pangborn Family Day and also Moose Day at the races. The pure stocks will have the Jimmy Cornett Memorial, their biggest race of the year and the 4-cyl pure stocks will have the Ernie's Salvage 25, their longest and highest paying event. Also on the schedule will be the late models and late model sportsman. If that isn't enough action, there will be a 50-lap Fall Championship Enduro and the Tommy Thompson Memorial Demolition Derby. Race time is 1 P.M. with gates opening at 11 A.M.
The 4th Annual Richard "Boney" Bonebrake Memorial for late models is set for Sunday afternoon, September 19th. Joining the late models will be the late model sportsman, pure stocks and 4-cyl pure stocks. Race time is 1 P.M. Hagerstown will have an open date on Sunday, September 26th, but return the following week, Sunday October 4th, with the super sprints, super sportsman and late models.
