Paxton Notches Third Oakshade Triumph

With a capacity crowd watching both the feature events and the threatening northern skies, Toledo Ohio native Justen Paxton stormed by early race leader Kris Patterson enroute to his UMP Late Models at the Oakshade Raceway. Patterson took command early over Glenn Bradley and fourth place starter Paxton. By half way point however, Bradley had spun and Paxton had strongly moved by Patterson to preserve the win. The driver of the B&P Wrecking/Paxton Equipment in the 25 lap main. Patterson held on to second while Rody Schroyer bagged third ahead of Ron Miller and Mike McNight. A scant second after Paxton’s victory, heavy thunderstorms and a nearby tornado forced cancellation of the remainder of the racing program. A stout 190 car count filled the pits at the 3/8 mile dirt oval. Next week Oakshade will present a full program of UMP late Models, 360 Sprints, Sportsman/Trucks, and Bombers along with the rained out features of this week.
