MORAN MOTORS TO STARS WIN #8 AT K-C!!!

 Donnie Moran of Dresden,OH scored his eighth STARS National DirtCar Racing League sanctioned victory of the season Saturday at K-C Raceway near Chillicothe,OH pocketing $8,000 for his win in the "Southern Hills 50".
Starting seventh aboard the McCullough Industries/Eddie's Sunoco/MasterSbilt Chassis/Fisher Motorsports Engines No. 99 Moran Racing
Pontiac Grand Prix, the three-time STARS champion shot past race long
leader Chub Frank on a lap 43 restart and held off Frank by less than one
second to score the win. Tenth starting Mike Balzano wound up third with
ninth starting Steve Shaver fourth and thirteenth starting Gary Stuhler
fifth. Completing the top ten were fourteenth starting Steve Casebolt Jr.,
John Mason, R.J. Conley, Delmas Conley (the last car on the lead lap) and
Rod Conley.

 Frank powered into the lead from his outside front row berth after one lap
with pole sitter Skip Watterman, Delmas Conley, R.J. Conley and Rod Conley trailing. Frank opened up a three car length advantage over Watterman by lap two with D. Conley taking the runner-up spot on lap 3. R.J. Conley shuffled past Watterman on lap 4 and two laps later Moran worked his way past Rod Conley for fifth. Moran grabbed fourth from Watterman on lap 8 with Frank catching lapped traffic on lap 10. Frank ran uncontested for the next few laps as Moran continued his charge to the front taking third from R.J. Conley on lap 13 and then second from Delmas Conley on lap 15. One lap later Shaver broke into the top five with Balzano shooting to fourth on lap 18. Frank continued his charge through the backmarkers keeping a nearly one second lead on Moran. On lap 20 Balzano worked his way to third as Shaver grabbed fourth. Stuhler then grabbed fifth on lap 23 as Frank ran alone for the next 20 laps. With only seven laps remaining the races only caution  flew on lap 43 when Jerry Rice slammed the frontchute wall dropping him from the action and putting Moran right on the back bumper of Frank for the restart. On the restart Moran went to the low groove with Frank going to the top of the track as they entered turn one. Moran kept himself glued to the bottom racing into the lead on lap 44 opening a two car length lead on Frank. Moran kept himself in the lower groove over the remaining laps taking the checkered flag as Frank raced off of turn four.

 The $32,000 event drew 35 drivers to the high-banked 3/8ths mile track
with Mike Wilson Jr. setting quick time at 14.008 seconds. BORLA EXHAUST
heat race wins fell to Moran (SCOTT PERFORMANCE WIRE heat race bonus
winner), Steve Lucas, Mason and Shaver. Watterman copped the ISKY RACING CAMS dash while Aaron Scott pocketed the PRO SHOCKS "B" Main.
