BLOOMQUIST DOUBLES UP AT ROUTE 66

July 3, 1999

JOLIET, IL - Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN won his second straight
United Dirt Track Racing Association Hav-A-Tampa Dirt Racing Series main
event Saturday night at Route 66 Raceway.  Bloomquist drove his Miller
Brothers Coal Warrior/Mustang to the $7,000 victory by leading all 60 laps
of the main event.

Over the first two days of the three-day Route 66 Raceway Hav-A-Tampa
visit, Bloomquist has led 110 straight laps of main event competition.  The
defending and three-time Hav-A-Tampa Champion will be looking to sweep the
weekend's action in Sunday night's 75-lap $10,000-to-win main event that
will be taped for September airing on the Speedvision Television Network.

Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR drove his Monday Trucking GRT/Monte Carlo
to second place on Saturday night, and challenged Bloomquist for the lead on
several occasions during the caution-free race.

While Bloomquist ran the high groove around the half-mile clay oval,
Wallace elected to take the short way around on the inside.  Wallace made
his first challenge for the lead on lap nine, drawing along side Bloomquist.
Once the leaders started the lapping process, Bloomquist was able to pull
away from Wallace.

Wallace was able to reel in Bloomquist and challenge again for the lead on
lap 27.  On lap 36, Bloomquist and Wallace were racing side-by-side for the
lead when they came up to lap Brian Birkhofer.   While Bloomquist moved
around the outside of the track to lap Birkhofer, Wallace, running the
bottom groove, had trouble getting around the low running Birkhofer.

During the last ten laps of the race, Bloomquist checked out on Wallace to
pick up his series leading 65th career Hav-A-Tampa victory.

Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL brought his Barto Enterprises
Warrior/Monte Carlo home in the third spot, with fourth going to Skip Arp of
Georgetown, TN in the Curtis Equipment GRT/Monte Carlo.  Rick Eckert of
York, PA finished fifth in the Raye Vest Mastersbilt/Grand Prix.

Sixth through tenth spots respectively went to Dan Schlieper of Pewaukee,
WI, Freddy Smith of Knoxville, TN, Bill Frye of Greenbrier, AR, Bart Hartman
of Zanesville, OH, and HAT point leader Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA.

Wallace earned his fifth fast-qualifier award among the 31 entries during
the qualifications with a lap in 19.330 seconds.  Wallace, Bloomquist, and
Pearson won the three 10-lap Borla Muffler Heat Races.  Lance Elson of
Wellsburg, WV won the 10-lap Pace American Trailers/Polaris ATVs Consolation
Race.

The victory moved Bloomquist into the third spot in the Hav-A-Tampa point
standings, while Wallace's second place finish move him to within 49 points
of point leader McDowell.
