K-C Raceway Results  August 28, 1999
By Scott Wolfe
Chillicothe, Ohio- -  It's not often that a father-son duo get to race against one another far along into their careers, let alone do what Mark and Bud Frazier of Chillicothe, Ohio did Saturday night at K-C Raceway.  Son Mark overcame a string of accidents and Moe Beeler's mechanical misfortune's to claim a highly contested win over dad Bud in the 25-lap Late Model feature Saturday night.  It was the second time the duo had accomplished that feat in their careers.
In the Sprint car feature, Danville, Indiana's Danny Smith, a veteran World of Outlaw driver and All-Star regular, came into town to pick up his second win of the year on the fast, high-banked 3/8 mile oval.  Conard Newman has quickly become the "King of the Valley" in the Hobby Stock Division, where he won his seventh race of the season.  Newman has won all but one race in the Hobby Stock division.
The Late Model feature saw another Chillicothian, Moe Beeler, jump into the lead in his Mopar powered number 72.  Several cars were torn up in a dramatic eleven-car crash on the first lap.  Sprint car driver Chad Kemenah got clipped from behind an sent into the front chute wall, triggering a chain reaction that collected the cars of Skip Watterman, Paul Coyan, Shannon Roese, Jeff Houser, Dave Porter, Rich Shannon, Craig Gibson, Jimmy Stricker, Dave Willoughby,  and Adam Stevens. Stevens, Kemenah, and Coyan were sidelined in the melee. Beeler led the first twelve circuits as a great battle developed for second.
Beeler's mount slowed on the thirteenth circuit and Frazier carried the torch to the finish.  Trailing were Bud Frazier, Jason Montgomery, Mike Wilson, Dave Willoughby, Jeff Houser, Skip Watterman, Brett Foster, Scott Edmisten, and John Remy.
In the Super Sprint Division, Jim Nier outgunned Mark Keegan on the last lap of the first heat to claim the win.  The former champion had visions of doing the same in the feature when he strapped on his holsters and hunted down the high flying outlaw Danny Smith.  The race was interrupted when 16-year old Jonathan Stevens collided with another car and flipped violently numerous times into the turn three catch fence.
Nier and Smth continued to  battle with Smith building up a huge lead.  Nier came on in hot pursuit, but his bid came up a car lenght short at the finish.  A highlight of the night was when Lonnie Darst's #L-5 Gambler did an aerial flip and tail stand in turn two, but landed on his wheels and continued.
Rounding out the top ten behind Nier were , Al Roepke, Mark Keegan, Scott Miller, Jason Dukes, Chad Kemenah, Jim Stinson, Wayne McPeek,  and John Wisbon.
Conard Newman just simply outclassed the field with a super-nice car and his great driving ability.  Newman took the early lead and lapped all but seven of the twenty-five car field, outdistancing himself from second place Rodney VanOver by a half track.  Following VanOver in second was third place Richard Gross, Gary Park, Ron Williams, Matt Yates, Autumn Nichols, Dwayne Ackley, Larry Jones, and Leroy Dunaway.
K-C will host the season championships in all four divisions next Saturday night.
