PITTSBURGH'S PENNSYLVANIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

8/14/99

(724) 853-RACE/www.ppms.com

IMPERIAL, PA..It was "five for five" Saturday at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania
Motor Speedway as Lou Bradich of Chester, WV drove his #5 Rocket Chassis to his fifth Late Model win this season.  Defending Limited Late Model champion Dave Wade of Pittsburgh earned his second win of the year.  East Liverpool, OH's Larry Kugel found victory lane for the third time in the M. Stahl E-Modfieds, and Danny "The Danimal" Rich of Imperial collected his second Schneider Truck Spectator Stock checkered flag.  Tony Sinicrope of Kennedy Twp. was the new winner in the Amateur Stocks while Micheal Litman of Washington won the Demolition Derby.

Jim Lepro set the pace at the start of the 25-lap Late Model feature before Davey Johnson took charge.  A caution on lap seven saw Lou Bradich second to Johnson with Lepro third and tenth starting Ed Ferree fourth.  Johnson opened up a straightaway lead shortly after the race restarted as Ferree moved all the way to second.  While Johnson reeled in the tail of the field, Bradich went back by Ferree for second and last week's winner, Doug Crawford, soon followed him to third.  With Johnson battling heavy traffic, Bradich quickly closed on the leader and made a daring high-side pass for the lead completing lap 19.  "I just closed my eyes and gassed it," said Bradich after the race.  In the closing laps, Bradich had his hands full in traffic as Johnson appeared poised to retake the lead, but Bradich burst into daylight on the final lap and maintained the lead to the finish.  Crawford, Ricky Thomas, and
Ferree rounded out the top five.  Six through ten were:  Alex Ferree, Lance Elson, Steve Baker, Jim Kutas and Lepro.  Johnson, Thomas and Monarch Oil Hard Charger, Crawford, won the heat races.

Dave Wade moved from fourth to first on lap one of the Limited Late Model
feature, and was never headed on his way to the win.  Len Dobrosielski was
second, Monarch Oil Hard Charger Rick Heim third, Pete Loria fourth and Jim
Stephans fifth.  Completing the top ten were: Brian Laraway, George Bland,
Tom Schirnhofer, Brandon Wearing and Chuck Moury.  Loria and Dobrosielski won
the preliminaries.
After a first lap caution put points leader and top winner Wayne Tessean on
the front row of the M. Stahl E-Modified feature, most figured he would
breeze to his ninth win this year.  However, Larry Kugel had other ideas.
Kugel started tenth and blew by  Tessean on lap five and never let up in
collecting the victory.  Tessean was second followed closely by Ralph Hysong
Jr..  D.J. Miller came from twelfth to fourth and Kurt Halbedl (subbing for
Jeff Broniszewski) was fifth.  Scott Gunn, Russ Matejka, Scott Stiffler, Mike
Ross and Bruce Dreistadt rounded out the top ten.
Kugel was also the Monarch Oil Hard Charger.  The heat races went to Halbedl
and Hysong.
Danny Rich overhauled Frankie Schneider for the lead on the fifth lap of
the Schneider Truck Spectator Stock feature and led the final ten circuits
for the win.  Schneider was second, Al Atallah third, Charlie DiLoreto fourth
and Rich Apolito fifth.  Monarch Oil Hard Charger Neal Isiminger was sixth,
Daryl Robinson seventh, Dave Greenawald eighth, Doug Foster ninth and A.J.
Puljak tenth.  Atallah and Apolito collected the heat race wins.  By the way,
Rich will be getting married at PPMS Friday, September 17th the night of the
Pittsburgher Pure Stock Invitational.
Tony Sinicrope led wire to wire in the Amateur Stock ten lap feature.  Bob
Schwartzmiller was second, Dwayne Willfong third, Bob Siemon fourth and Jason
Fosnaught fifth.
Micheal Litman bested 18 cars to claim the demo derby.   Shawn Moore was
second and Andrew Bordt third.
This Saturday, August 21st, is the Nick Garin Memorial with Twin 20's for
the Late Models highlighting the evening.  Garin is the gentleman who built
the speedway and first promoted it when it opened in 1979.  Gates open at 5pm
with racing at 7pm.  For more information call (724) 853-RACE or visit our
