PORT ROYAL, PA (July 17, 1999) - Rain visited the Port Royal Speedway Saturday night, July 17, around 5 p.m. Showers continued for over two hours, forcing cancellation of the evenings racing program.

The speedway returns to action Saturday night, July 24, with a three-division program of Late Models, Sprint Cars and a make-up Ladies Powder Puff event. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7.

Late Model fans will want to be on hand for tbe open competition "Run What Ya Brung" Late Model event which features open tires and open motors. Competitors will receive 55 appearance points as per the Port Royal Speedway rule book. The high-powered racers will run 30 laps for a $2,000 top prize.
