Fleming Flies To Oakshade Win

The veteran of the 33 car late model field proved his experience to the fullest Saturday night at the Oakshade Raceway with a last lap pass in the 25 lap UMP feature event Bryan Koebbe and Steve Rowe dueled back and forth for most of the event until lap 24 when a lapped car played into the outcome allowing Fleming to stick the Elite Call Collision #1 on the bottom of the racetrack and pass Rowe in turn four to collect his first win at the 3/8 mile speedplant. Rowe held on for second while Koebbe stayed in third. Rody Schroyer remained in fourth and Justin Paxton captured fifth after starting 16th.
Fremont Ohio native Jody Keegan notched his first 360 Sprint main in fine fashion by holding off the assault of runner-up John Ivy. Keeganís Wal-Mart/Ace Engines #60 ran a flawless 20 laps to earn the victory. Todd Heller came home third ahead of Grayling Call and Ron Beale.
The parade of first time winners continued in the Sportsman division as Casey Noonan finally shook of the jinx of runner-up and collected his first victory even at Oakshade. Chris Smith fought his way up to a second place tally while Brad Kendall earned third. Ray Klawitter came home fourth and Mike Sudeth rounded out the top five.
Doug Miller followed suit by being a first-timer in A main Bomber main action. The 18DM stayed out front all race long over Buice Winegarden, Dan Bleikamp, Randy Roseman, and Trevor Zimmerman. Mark Domoe, John Nusbawn, Kurt Lancaster, and Adam Flint. The C main went to Tommy Jo Huff. The D main saw Jow Baker in Victory lane.
Next week Oakshade hill host the second annual Birthday race with $6000. going to the winner of the 50 lap UMP Latemodel feature. A special Australian Pursuit race will see the winner earn $1000. presented by Quality Cable.
Sportsman/Trucks and Bombers will also be in action. A total of 185 cars took the highbanks of Oakshade for the evenings events.
